Dr Lewis has an interest in diabetes and has run and overseen the diabetic clinic for a number of years. He also works as a specialist doctor in Ysbyty Ystrad Fawr where he performs endoscopies.

Dr Gordon's interests include Asthma, Rheumatology and Family Planning.

Dr Edwards interests include Coronary Heart Disease and Diabetes. He is a GP trainer. He is the Neighbourhood Care Network Lead for Caerphilly South. Mae Dr Edwards yn siarad Cymraeg.

DR SIARON WEST

Dr West is the Safeguarding Lead for the practice and also a GP trainer. She runs a joint clinic with ABSDAS for drug and alcohol use. She has expertise in trans medicine and will accept referrals from other practices under the terms of the Direct Enhanced Service. She is also an intermediate Welsh speaker.

GPs in Training

The surgery will often have doctors who are training for General Practice working in the surgery. These doctors change every 6 to 12 months.

Advanced Nurse Practitioner

The Advanced Nurse Practitioners are registered general nurses and specialist practitioners in all areas of General Practice including nursing duties as well as emergency medical care. They can help with general health, dietary, stop smoking and lifestyle advice, blood pressure checks, cervical smears, ear syringing, asthma, menopause, wound care and vaccinations for home and abroad. The practice nursing staff run the INR clinic under the direction of Dr Chaudhry and Dr Gordon.

ALICIA MARSH

Sister Alicia Marsh will see patients on the day during duty appointments and covers all minor illness issues. She will also see patients for all aspects of nursing appointments such as wound care, immunisations, smears, diabetes

Practice Manager

The Practice Manager has the overall responsibility for all administrative and financial aspects within the practice. These duties range from ensuring the smooth daily operation of the surgery to a high standard of performance by the staff. She is the focal point for any management matters concerning the practice.

Morgan is responsible for the management of reception staff as well as booking all chronic disease clinics. His direct number is 029 20854493 she is available Mon/Tues/Thurs/Friday between 10.00am – 4.00pm.

Community Nurses

The district nurses are registered general nurses with specialist training in community nursing to enable them to give expert care at home, in clinics or in the surgery. Your team of district nurses are available on request from surgery to assess your nursing needs. They can be contacted on 02920 802756.

Health Visitors

Health visitors are registered general nurses who have also done a special health visiting course. They are concerned with infants and mothers health and wellbeing. They can be contacted on 02920 884263.
