GP Training

Information for Patients

Ty Bryn Surgery is a GP Training practice. GP registrars spend either 6 or 12 months at the surgery. The doctors who come to the surgery are fully qualified doctors with experience in hospital medicine and they are training to become GPs. As a patient you will be offered appointments with the GP registrar and you may also be asked if the GP registrar can video the consultation. All video recordings are strictly confidential and are used for teaching only.

Information for Doctors

Ty Bryn Surgery is part of the Gwent Vocational Training Scheme. We are the closest practice on the scheme to Cardiff. Dr Alun Edwards and Dr Siaron West are the current GP Trainer. As a GPR in Ty Bryn you will have your own room with desktop internet access and use of all the practice facilities including video camera and VCR. We are a young enthusiastic group of doctors and we believe we are able to offer a broad and enjoyable experience for any GPR.
